Solange Had the Most Turnt Up Wedding of the Year

In Depth

Here she is dancing at said wedding with her son Juelz to Rae Sremmurd’s club hit/possible song of the year “No Flex Zone.”

As you probably know, Solange Knowles married video director Alan Ferguson (who is 51 [!] but looks 30) in New Orleans over the weekend, and unlike many celeb weddings (and weddings in general), it actually seems like the kind of fete to which you’re sad you didn’t attend. And not just because of the above video: she also enlisted an excellent roster of talent to entertain guests, including Questlove as DJ, and outré musicians Kelela (LA/DC) and Kindness (UK) to sing. Additionally, there was a traditional NOLA Second Line, in which your mans, sparkler-toting JAY Z, participated:

The bride wore a custom Kenzo gown with cape (created by Kenzo co-designer Humberto Leon), and bracelets by Lady Grey (jewelry company owned by Jill Martinelli, who is married to Chairlift’s Patrick Wimberly, who coproduced “No Angel” for Beyoncé, whose video was shot in New Orleans because EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED).

Your pal Beyoncé was in the wedding party (as was Janelle Monae, for whom Ferguson has directed videos):

The theme was, obviously, all white, and Juelz got to wear Air Maxes because Solange is Cool Mom:

The venue was some lovely rustic arched palace:

Guests included, from left: Grizzly Bear’s Ed Droste and his husband Chad McPhail; J. Crew mastermind Jenna Lyons; and Kelela, who also performed.

Blue, too, of course.

The couple rode bikes to the reception (Solange in a convertible pantsuit), which was held at the New Orleans Museum of Art:

Post-wedding performance, Kelela (in Calvin Klein!) felt freeeeee:

Congratulations to Solange and Alan (and Juelz)!
