Oscar de la Renta Is Selling Amal Alamuddin Clooney's Dress

Less than two weeks after noted barrister Amal Clooney sported an Oscar de la Renta gown for her wedding to some actor, designer Isabelle Armstrong offered up a $7,200 lookalike. But don’t let the high price tag fool you: If it’s not a de la Renta, it’s just a pricey knockoff. Oscar, however, wasn’t going to leave you in such déclassé straits.

Thankfully, Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2015 collection features a gown that’s nearly identical to Amal’s. Seeing as hers was a custom design, he wasn’t going to put an exact replica on the market, but this is pretty damn close. From what we can tell in this less-than-ideal image (click to enlarge), the gown has less train and more crinoline (which you can always have removed in alterations). The lace, neckline and bodice, however, look identical to what we saw with Amal’s dress.

As for the asking price, StyleCaster is putting it at $25,000, though it’s not clear where they got that number (I was going to guess $12,000, but I’m willfully naïve about these things). That’s $25,000 to wear a dress that most of the world has already seen, but hey — the heart wants what the heart wants.
